Text Box: Columbia Garage Doors and Openers was started on March 1, 2002 by Gary Boyson. He and his wife Michelle moved to Columbia, Tennessee in January of 2002 from Palmyra, New York. In October 2001 the Boyson’s visited middle Tennessee and knowing some people in the area, decided that they wanted to move to Columbia area. Gary had worked for one of the original Overhead Door Companies, Overhead Door Company of Rochester, NY for three years, quickly gaining experience in sales, residential door and opener installation and repairs, and also some experience in commercial installation and repair. Gary’s quality of work is described by one of the company's owners, Wayne Blue, as “impeccable”, who also dubbed him a nickname of “escargot“ (snail), because he was their slowest installer; however, the quality of his work more than made up for it.
